Fiber Mesh is made of a mixture of synthetic and/or natural materials and helps concrete retain its strength and impact resistance. It is mixed evenly throughout the concrete and helps to prevent cracking as it dries and also keeps cracks in the dried product small and unproblematic. Fiber mesh is used in patios, driveways, sidewalks and pathways because these pours are generally a thinner layer of concrete.
Wire mesh is a welded grid that is positioned in the center of a concrete pour, it is best used in a thicker slab. Wire mesh prevents cracking and lends itself to the slab's flexural strength. It is most commonly used in larger slabs for bearing heavier loads.
Rebar (or reinforcing bar) is a steel bar that reinforces strength and flexibility. It is generally used for foundations, larger buildings and any high load capacity driveways or slabs. It is the most robust option, helping keep concrete strong from high environmental stress or problems with shifting soil.
